CLIMATE - POLAR GEOGRAPHIC WANTS TO CONTRIBUTE
Denmark has a target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 70 per cent in 2030. It is one of the most ambitious climate goals in the world.
This is a task that the Polarskolen would like to help solve. We want to bring the global climate crisis into the classroom. We want to create a completely new and exciting activity-based teaching course with a focus on climate.
Our plan is to start the development at the beginning of 2024, but we would like to start sharing climate news on this page right now.
The 70 pct. 2030 is an important goal - but it is not the only goal that counts. Denmark's emissions of greenhouse gases must be 'net zero' in 2050, and the foundation for this long-term goal must be laid now.
A sustainable transition is about much more than a reduction goal. It's about the society we want to build for the next 30 years. If this can succeed in a way that benefits both the planet and its inhabitants, Denmark can strengthen its position as a green pioneer country that can inspire others - anywhere in the world.
Our goal is to equip children and young people well for the future and engage them in the climate solutions they are to help find.
